Aviva Butt
Aviva Butt was born in New York City, was educated in Australia and now calls Dunedin, New Zealand home. She is a screenwriter, writer and translator. Having translated many poems and short stories from Arabic and Hebrew, she decided to try her hand at original short story writing. She wrote the collection of short stories Gifts from an Empty Suitcase and Other Short Stories (2012). In this collection, we see Butt’s characteristically multilayered style and modern usage of referential language from various religions and traditions.
